Summary:

The Payroll Manager oversees both internal and external customer, vendor, and auditor relationships. This individual ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local agencies while providing oversight and direction of payroll operations.

Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:

Responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of all functions of the payroll department including but not limited to payroll-related tax withholding and filings

Review and analyze current payroll, benefits, and tax procedures in order to implement changes to lead to best-practice operations

Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions

Maintain payroll information by designing and enhancing systems; directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data

Provide support, direction and growth opportunities for staff

Establish department goals to enhance efficiency and implement best-practices while aligning with corporate goals

Design budget models for labor and related costs to support the company’s bi-annual budget process as well as provide labor cost information for operations on an ad-hoc basis

Maintain compliance with all international employee regulations while consistently adapting and improving International processes

Carry out job duties while maintaining Lane values

Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

At least 8 of experience with a progressive track record in payroll

At least 3 years of managing a payroll department

Must possess in-house payroll experience

Experience in a high volume, fast-paced environment (3,000+ employees)

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees

Excellent Excel skills

CPP a plus

Prevailing wage/union experience is a plus

Large ERP system experience required; JDE experience is a plus
